It`s National Volunteer Week and we can`t let the week go by without recognizing our amazing volunteers. 🍋 From building beds, hosting lemonade stands, making Christmas tags, labeling donation jars, laminating event materials, and helping at events... our volunteers do it all!! And whatever the task might be, they do it with a smile on their face. We are forever grateful for our lemonade volunteers and their willingness to do just about anything! 😊

As the school year is winding down, these summer hosts are busy preparing for @magnifiedgiving Camp Give this July! We are sending 12 (!!!) hosts to this wonderful camp where they`ll be able to experience their community in a new way! 💛
New this year is that Magnified Giving has devoted a whole week of camp to Payton`s Lemonade Stand hosts only - so cool! 🍋 The kids will be able to focus their time and efforts on causes that mean a lot to them. They`ll be able to explore community needs by visiting various local nonprofits, completing volunteer work and learning about who they help and why it`s important!

Thank you so much to Bill Robbe and the North Bend Yacht Club for inviting Payton to speak at your event at Western Hills Country Club last night! 💛 This wonderful group was so kind to Payton as they intently listened to her story, applauded her accomplishments and presented her with a very generous check. Buddy LaRosa even sweetened the pot and pulled out two LaRosa`s coupons from his suit jacket! 😉 And, the split-the-pot winner in the first picture so graciously donated her winnings back to PLS! Overall, it was such a fun night with some of the nicest people around and we are so grateful for their support!

On any given day, there are thousands of local kids who sleep on the floor. Seeing the reasons why the parents can`t afford a bed are heart breaking. The need here in Cincinnati is big and we were so excited to see that our good friend and mentor, Todd Foreman, started a Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter right here in Hamilton County. He and his team were able to start chipping away at the (long) waitlist and built several beds for kids here locally. But they needed mattresses and couldn`t wait on grants to come through so we stepped up and were able to provide them with over 30 brand new mattresses so that they could get the beds delivered ASAP! That`s 30 more kids going to bed tonight in a warm, comfy bed because of YOU! Just imagine those smiles! 🍋

Our Birthday Bundle Campaign was nothing short of amazing! 💛 Through your generous donations, we were able to secure over 120 brand new swimsuits for both boys and girls, 120 towels, over 200 pairs of goggles and over 1,650 bottles of sunscreen!! 🥳Absolutely incredible! These supplies will be distributed to local CRC pools so that kids facing hardships can join their peers and create summer memories to last a lifetime!! 🙌

Our Community Serving Kids program continues to thrive and this week The Villages of Roll Hill had a long line of excited residents who were given items such as toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, and more essentials.
The Villages of Roll Hill is an eco-friendly community that provides affordable 1, 2, and 3-bedroom garden apartments and townhomes. Everyone deserves to live in a quality and comfortable home at a reasonable price and we are so happy that we can provide them with much needed items which then frees up their budgets for other necessities. One of our new summer hosts (we have several!!), Sophia, is very excited to join the lemonade team. 🍋 Recently, she was assigned to give a presentation in her current events co-op and she chose to give a presentation about Payton’s Lemonade Stand.
At the end, she encouraged her fellow peers to get involved and host a lemonade stand this summer too. How neat! She also has some ideas about how Payton’s Lemonade Stand can help one of her favorite nonprofits, Hopeful Pastures, and we’re so excited to explore and see how we can help! 💛

Today we celebrated the life of Jeff Barnhorst, a neighbor of Payton`s and a longtime supporter of Payton`s Lemonade Stand. Jeff attended our annual stand every year and was always so proud to tell people that this all started right in his neighborhood. He was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and with every victory along his cancer journey, he and his wife, Laura, would make a donation to PLS. When we saw a donation come through, we knew Jeff got good news. Whenever he had a bad day, Laura would ask him, "what are you going to do with your lemons today?" and Jeff would respond, "I`m going to make lemonade." 🍋 He was a fighter. Jeff unexpectedly died last week, shocking all of us. Laura said Jeff would have wanted all donations in his memory to be made to Payton`s Lemonade Stand and we were so touched by that. Even in death, Jeff is giving back and making a difference and we think that`s pretty amazing. Rest in peace, Jeff. We`ll have a glass of lemonade in your memory at this year`s stand. 💛

It was two years ago this month when we began planning for Payton`s Playroom at Madi`s House, so you can imagine the joy we felt last week when we got to see kids thoroughly enjoying the room we worked so hard on. 🍋 The smiles on their faces say it all! And, the staff at Madi`s House continues to tell us about the wonderful feedback they get from parents who can now attend programming to help them on their road to recovery and know that their kids are just steps away in a safe place, a place they enjoy. 💛

It broke our hearts last year to learn of the kids showing up to a local CRC public pool who had to stand outside the fence and watch their peers enjoy an afternoon at the pool because they themselves didn`t own a swimsuit. 😣
We later learned that this happens at many CRC pools so we knew we had to help. We believe all kids should have memories of spending their summers swimming with their friends at the local pool and we came up with a plan, but we need YOUR help! 🍋
As you may know, Payton and Presley have March birthdays so our annual Birthday Bundle Campaign will not only provide bathing suits, but also towels, goggles and sunscreen!! 💛 We`ll equip various pools with supplies so that children showing up who would typically be turned away, can now be given what they need so they can feel included too!
NOW through March 22nd, you can choose to donate at any level! By donating, you`ll be providing memories to last a lifetime and it doesn`t get sweeter than that! 😊

Our heart warrior, Lily, continues her courageous fight in the hospital. 💛 On a recent visit, friends told us they noticed that Lily didn`t have a device that enabled her to stay in touch with her friends at school. This is something she would love to do to help pass the time during those long days at home and in the hospital. So, we`re hoping this gift will brighten her spirits and reconnect her with those friends she misses so much!
Soon, Lily will find out if she is eligible for a lung (and possibly heart) transplant. These are things that Lily needs. We ask that you please keep her and her family in your prayers as they await this news and plan for next steps.
